2017 Protecting Delaware's Children Conference

The General Session for all child welfare professionals will take place on April 26th from 9:00 to 4:30. It will feature 19 workshops on topics, including: understanding trends in substance abuse; testifying effectively and surviving cross examinations; conducting crime scene investigations; increasing self-awareness of vicarious trauma; exploring family finding strategies; using communication techniques to defuse hostile situations; recognizing the strategies offenders report using to target, seduce and exploit children and adults; discussing the trends in psychotropic medication use among high-risk children; and learning about a parenting program for parents whose children have experienced adversity.
